“HERO” playwright + producer talks to us on 19th Jan (8pm GMT/3pm ET.) Join us.

The writer behind the well-received play “Hero” is Ken Rogan. Ken is a Dublin based writer. He wrote a weekly column, Wholly Thursday, for the Metro Herald for two years until the paper closed in 2015, and he has been published in the Irish Times, Sunday Independent, Irish Examiner, Evening Herald, Big Issue, and We Are Dublin magazine. Ken began writing drama and comedy 2011 and for two years his sketches were regularly performed by the Brownbread Mixtape (Electric Picnic; Tiger Dublin Fringe 2016). This led to Ken writing and performing his own stand-up material for two years before directing, producing and writing (in collaboration) a weekly live current affairs comedy show called Seachtain Agus Awe. Ken has written several sitcom pilots, and has written, directed and produced a short film titled Press Release (release date TBA). He is a graduate of UCD (BA English, Philosophy) and DCU (MA Journalism).
